My name is Martina Severt - a lifelong love of dogs
For me, dogs are more than just animals - they are loyal companions, true family members and comforters of the soul. This love has been with me since I was a child. Our first dog, a female pinscher, was my best friend. At the same time, I was fascinated by the imposing St. Bernard on a nearby farm. His calm, majestic charisma impressed me even as a child.
Over the years, I have had many wonderful dogs by my side. I particularly remember my Rhodesian Ridgeback Aaron, my Basset Hound Wilma and my Collie Lara. Each of them had their own character - and each of them accompanied me on my journey.
My heart has always beat especially for hunting dogs and pack dogs. I am particularly fond of dogs with long floppy ears. What began as a passion developed over time into my vocation: today I run a dog boarding kennel in Vreden with great dedication, where the welfare of every dog comes first.

Over ten years ago, I made the decision to share my love of dogs with others - and began caring for them lovingly. What once started as a small side business is now a reliable and individual kennel in Vreden, where the welfare of the animals comes first.
Even though I have no traditional training as a dog trainer or animal keeper, it was clear to me right from the start that specialist knowledge is crucial. That's why, on the instructions of the Borken Veterinary Office, I completed the dog ownership course in accordance with Section 11 (1) Nos. 3, 5 and 8a of the Animal Welfare Act - successfully and with great commitment.
In addition, I gained over 150 hours of specialist practice in a veterinary clinic, veterinary practice, an animal shelter and another kennel. My knowledge was tested and confirmed in a two-hour oral examination. In addition, regular inspections are carried out by the Borken veterinary office to ensure the highest level of care.
Hunting dogs and pack dogs are particularly close to my heart. Their special needs and sensitive nature require experience, calm and empathy - qualities that I bring with me and incorporate into my daily work with great dedication.
Today, I am proud to run a family-run, professional and loving kennel in Vreden - a place where dogs can feel safe, secure and at home.

Why the Basset Bleu de Gascogne?
Although I have always had a special fascination for hunting dogs, I only came across the Basset Bleu de Gascogne breed by chance in 2022. All it took was a Facebook post with two of these elegant dogs - and I was immediately in love. Their noble appearance, gentle eyes and friendly nature made me fall in love with them.
After initial contact with a breeder in Kassel, Kasia was recommended to me. In September 2022, Octavia from the Polish kennel Succession of Baron finally moved in with me. Dante and Fleur from French lines followed in May 2024:

Responsible breeding with heart - Basset Bleu de Gascogne from loving husbandry
My aim is to make the Basset Bleu de Gascogne breed more widely known in Germany and to grow healthy dogs with a strong character. I attach great importance to quality, health and character.
To ensure that my dogs meet these requirements, they regularly take part in national and international dog shows. You can find their successes and official certificates here:

Each mating is planned with the utmost care and professional expertise - with the aim of producing healthy, robust and well-balanced puppies in the future.

Our puppies will grow up in a family environment - with close contact to humans, child-friendly stimuli and careful preparation for their new home. We will ensure that they become socialized, safe and loving companions at an early age.
🔹 Long-term support for puppy owners
My responsibility does not end with the delivery: I will also be there for the new owners after the puppies have moved into their new homes - with advice, heart and experience. Because it's not just the birth, but the entire life of each individual dog that is close to my heart.
